Induscoat Canada is committed to making its website induscoat.ca accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. This statement describes our current compliance level and improvement plan, in accordance with the Canadian Accessibility Regulations (CAR, 2024) and WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.
01.Compliance status
The induscoat.ca website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. The majority of Level A and AA criteria are met, including keyboard navigation, respect for reduced-motion preferences, ARIA labelling of interactive components and skip links. Some criteria related to text contrast and fine focus management are the subject of continuous improvement.
02.Measures in place
• "Skip to content" link available on all pages • Full keyboard navigation (tabbing, Escape to close mobile menu) • Respect for prefers-reduced-motion system preference (animations and parallax disabled) • Associated labels for all form fields • ARIA attributes on interactive components (menu, FAQ accordion, consent banner) • Semantic HTML5 structure (header, nav, main, footer, hierarchical headings) • Alternative text on informational images • Mobile performance optimization (Core Web Vitals)
03.Measures under improvement
• Contrast of some secondary text (reduced opacity on dark background) being enhanced • Migration to a /fr /en language tree to serve a correct lang attribute per page • User testing planned with people with disabilities (NVDA, JAWS screen readers) • Text-zoom validation at 200% across all pages
04.Technologies used
The site is built on Next.js (React), semantic HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Compliance relies on native browser features wherever possible (native form elements, browser focus, standard ARIA attributes).
