Industrial concrete protection and repair
Industrial concrete suffers chemical attack (acids, sulphates, bases), abrasion, freeze-thaw cycles and thermal shock. Unprotected, it cracks, spalls and lets rebar corrode. Induscoat applies concrete repair and coating systems — epoxy, vinyl ester, polyurethane cement — for leach tanks, plant slabs, basins, channels, foundations and storage areas.
The challenge: concrete attacked by acids, freeze and abrasion
In mines (acid leaching), chemical plants, cement plants and wastewater stations, unprotected concrete degrades rapidly. Mining acids dissolve the cement paste, Canadian freeze-thaw cycles crack the surface, slurry and load abrasion wear the slab. Exposed rebar corrodes, causing spalling and structural loss. Full concrete replacement is costly and idles the facility.
The solution: high-chemical-resistance concrete coatings
Induscoat applies epoxy, vinyl ester and polyurethane-cement concrete coating systems selected by chemical aggressor, temperature and traffic. For acid-leach tanks: fibre-reinforced vinyl ester. For heavy-traffic plant slabs: anti-slip polyurethane cement. For basins and channels: waterproofing epoxy. Each project includes crack repair, joint treatment and adhesion testing.
Concrete assessment: strength, moisture, cracks, contamination
Preparation: scabbler, grit blast or hydro-demolition + crack treatment
System application: epoxy primer + body + optional anti-slip topcoat
Final testing: adhesion (ASTM D7234), watertightness test and QA/QC sheet
Benefits of professional concrete coating
- Stops degradation by acids, sulphates, bases and freeze
- Protects rebar from corrosion (spalling cause)
- Anti-slip surface available for traffic areas
- Typical service life 10 to 20 years depending on service
- Avoids full concrete replacement (5 to 10× cost)
- Abrasion resistance to slurries and loads
Systems we apply
Induscoat selects the concrete coating system by your aggressor (acid, base, sulphate, hydrocarbon), traffic and moisture. We apply Chester Molecular (immersion and erosion polymers), Arcor (anti-corrosion epoxy and vinyl ester) and our own Induscoat formulations (anti-wear ceramic for high-abrasion slabs).

Frequently asked questions
Can you coat damp concrete?+
Specific formulations (moisture-tolerant epoxy, polyurethane cement) can be applied to damp concrete. For full manufacturer warranty, a moisture test (ASTM D4263) is performed and a suitable primer used. We assess each case based on urgency and conditions.
Do you repair concrete cracks?+
Yes. Crack repair is an integral part of the work. We inject active cracks with a low-viscosity epoxy resin, treat expansion joints with a flexible polyurethane sealant, and rebuild spalled edges with an epoxy mortar before coating.
Which concrete applications do you serve?+
Acid-leach tanks (mining), retention basins, plant slabs, dock areas, channels, pumping stations, cooling towers, foundations, chemical storage areas.
Which sectors do you serve in Canada?+
Mining, cement, chemical and petrochemical plants, wastewater, power generation, pulp and paper — in Quebec, Ontario and across Canada.
