Energy

Asset protection for thermal, nuclear and hydroelectric power plants.

Our Expertise

Power generation assets demand coatings that survive high temperature, humidity and cyclic stress. Induscoat protects boilers, stacks, penstocks, cooling towers and condenser water boxes across the Canadian energy market. We apply high-temperature resistant coatings, Arcor corrosion linings and cold-curing epoxy repairs from Chester Molecular and Induscoat for flange faces and tube-sheets — all applied under strict HSE and QA protocols for continuous or shutdown execution.

Key Challenges We Solve

  • High-temperature stack and boiler coating
  • Penstock and hydro turbine protection
  • Cooling tower and condenser lining
  • Shutdown execution under strict HSE
Equipment

Equipment We Protect

  • Boilers and steam drums
  • Stacks and flue gas ducts
  • Penstocks, scroll cases and hydro turbines
  • Cooling towers and condenser water boxes
  • Flange faces and heat exchanger tube-sheets
Constraints

Operational Constraints

  • High-temperature cycling up to 650 °C (boiler, stack)
  • Humid and biologically active environments (cooling towers)
  • Strict regulatory oversight (CSA N285, CSA Z662, ASME)
  • Short shutdown windows synchronized with grid demand
Products

Recommended Products & Brands

  • Arcor high-temperature coatings for boiler and stack service (up to 650 °C)
  • Chester Molecular polymer linings for condenser water boxes and cooling towers
  • Chester Molecular repair mastic for flange face and tube-sheet restoration
  • Foundry castings with grade selection for hydro turbine runner and wear rings
Shutdowns

Types of Shutdowns

  • Planned annual outage (spring/fall low-demand window)
  • Major 5–10 year overhaul of turbine or boiler
  • Forced outage on equipment failure or grid emergency
Risk mitigation

Risks We Help You Avoid

  • Forced outage reducing grid reliability and revenue
  • Condenser leak causing cooling water contamination of steam cycle
  • Stack corrosion triggering environmental exceedance
  • Cooling tower fill failure causing biofilm and Legionella risk

Sector FAQ

Which coatings for power plants in Canada?

Induscoat applies Arcor high-temperature systems (up to 1100 °C) for furnaces, stacks and hot-gas ducts, anti-corrosion coatings for boilers and cooling towers, and Chester Molecular cold-repair composites for condenser water boxes. All our systems are ISO 12944-certified and resist Canadian conditions (freeze, moisture).

Do you work on cooling towers?

Yes. We line cooling tower basins, structures and fill with epoxy and vinyl ester systems resistant to circulating water, biocides and bacterial growth (including Legionella). NSF/ANSI 61 certifications are available for potable-water contact towers.
