Industrial anti-corrosion protection in Quebec and Ontario

Corrosion is the number-one degrader of Canadian industrial assets: freeze-thaw cycles, de-icing salts, marine spray, mining acids, chemical vapours and permanent moisture. Induscoat protects structures, tanks, piping, equipment and steelwork with ISO 12944-certified anti-corrosion systems — from category C3 (moderate) to C5-M (very aggressive marine) and CX (immersion).

The challenge: corrosion degrades your assets silently

Without the right protection, steel rusts, welds crack, structures lose section and tanks perforate. In Canada, freeze-thaw accelerates water penetration, road salts attack structures, mining acids attack vessels. The cost of replacing a corroded asset is 5 to 20 times that of preventive anti-corrosion protection.

The solution: ISO 12944-certified anti-corrosion systems

Induscoat specifies and applies multi-coat anti-corrosion systems — inorganic-zinc primer, novolac-epoxy body, UV polyurethane topcoat — matched to the ISO 12944 category of your environment. For immersion: vinyl ester and coal-tar epoxy. For high temperature: HT silicone. Every system is applied after SSPC-SP10 blasting and tested for thickness, adhesion and continuity.

SSPC-SP10 near-white blasting + profile check

03

Multi-coat application: zinc primer, epoxy body, polyurethane topcoat

Final testing: DFT, adhesion (ASTM D4541), holiday test

Benefits of professional anti-corrosion protection

  • Asset service life extended by 15 to 30 years
  • ISO 12944-certified systems (C3 to C5-M and CX immersion)
  • Cost 5 to 20× lower than replacing the corroded asset
  • Resistance to Canadian conditions (freeze, salts, acids)
  • UV polyurethane topcoat (no yellowing, no chalking)
  • Full quality documentation (DFT, adhesion, holiday)

Systems we apply

Induscoat selects the anti-corrosion system based on your ISO 12944 environment and service temperature. We apply Arcor (novolac epoxy, inorganic zinc, polyurethane, HT silicone up to 1100 °C), Chester Molecular (immersion vinyl ester, high-performance polymers) and our own Induscoat formulations (ceramic for combined abrasion + corrosion).

Frequently asked questions

What is ISO 12944?+

ISO 12944 is the international standard that classifies corrosive environments (C1 very low to CX immersion) and defines the coating systems matched to each category. Induscoat specifies your systems to this standard to guarantee the planned service life.

Which ISO 12944 category applies to my site?+

C3 for moderate urban and industrial exterior, C4 for chemical and coastal, C5-I for aggressive industrial, C5-M for marine, CX for immersion. We assess your exposure (moisture, salts, acids, UV, temperature) to determine the category and the system.

Is blasting needed before applying an anti-corrosion system?+

To reach the service life planned by the manufacturer warranty (15 to 30 years), SSPC-SP10 near-white grit blasting with a defined anchor profile is essential. Lower-grade surface preparations (SP6, SP3 mechanical) significantly reduce system life.

Which sectors do you serve in Canada?+

Mining, power, oil and gas, petrochemical, steel and metallurgy, cement, pulp and paper, infrastructure — in Quebec, Ontario and across Canada.
