Steel & Metallurgy

High-temperature resistant coatings for furnaces, converters and rolling mill equipment.

Our Expertise

Steel and metallurgy facilities push coatings to their thermal and mechanical limits. Induscoat applies high-temperature systems to furnaces, converters, ladles and rolling-mill equipment, together with cold-curing epoxy repairs for bearing housings, cooling circuits and other compatible components. Each solution is selected according to the substrate, temperature and mechanical loads.

Key Challenges We Solve

  • Furnace and converter high-temp coating
  • Hydraulic cylinder rod restoration
  • Bearing housing and cooling circuit repair
  • Rolling mill stand protection
Equipment

Equipment We Protect

  • Furnace shells and reheating furnace walls
  • Converters and ladles
  • Rolling mill stands and roll chocks
  • Hydraulic cylinder rods and bearing housings
  • Cooling circuits and descaling headers
Constraints

Operational Constraints

  • Sustained temperatures up to 1300 °C in furnace zones
  • Thermal shock from liquid metal contact and water cooling
  • Heavy mechanical loads and vibration on rolling stands
  • Cyclic operation with frequent starts and stops
Products

Recommended Products & Brands

  • High-temperature coating selected for furnace shells and converters
  • Alumina tile solutions for high-wear zones (descale headers, chute liners)
  • Repair composite for compatible bearing housings and worn components
  • Foundry castings with grade selection for rolling mill stands (ASTM A781 / A29 grades)
Shutdowns

Types of Shutdowns

  • Planned campaign end and refractory reline (7–21 day shutdown)
  • Roll change and stand maintenance window
  • Emergency shutdown on hydraulic failure or water-cooling breach
Risk mitigation

Risks We Help You Avoid

  • Furnace shell failure causing extended production loss
  • Hydraulic oil leak creating fire and slip hazards
  • Roll chock and bearing damage from inadequate lubrication or wear
  • Cooling circuit breach triggering emergency water shutoff

Sector FAQ

How do you protect a steel furnace against heat and wear?

Induscoat selects a high-temperature system according to the substrate, continuous temperature, thermal peaks and mechanical exposure. In wear zones, a repair composite or ceramic protection may be used when its technical data confirms compatibility.

Do you repair rolling-mill hydraulic cylinders?

We first assess condition, tolerances, pressure, hydraulic fluid and seal-contact areas. Based on the diagnosis, we recommend a compatible repair, specialist machining or replacement; a polymer rebuild is used only when the technical documentation and tolerances allow it.
