Cement & Limestone

Durable wear-resistant solutions for the high-abrasion environments typical of cement and limestone production.

Our Expertise

Cement and limestone plants expose unprotected steel to constant particulate abrasion. Induscoat applies wear-resistant coatings and supplies foundry castings for chutes, hoppers, cyclones, mill liners and fan housings. Ceramic-filled repair composites rebuild eroded geometry and help extend maintenance intervals on critical conveying and grinding equipment.

Key Challenges We Solve

  • Chute and hopper wear lining
  • Cyclone and mill liner protection
  • Fan housing erosion rebuild
  • Foundry casting supply
Equipment

Equipment We Protect

  • Crusher wear parts (jaw plates, mantles, concaves, blow bars)
  • Raw mill and cement mill liners
  • Cyclone separators and preheater towers
  • Chutes, hoppers and conveyor transfer points
  • Kiln tire and supporting roller surfaces
Constraints

Operational Constraints

  • High-volume particulate abrasion (clinker, limestone, slag)
  • Temperatures up to 1400 °C in kiln and preheater zones
  • Heavy vibration on crushers and mills
  • Dust-laden atmosphere requiring ATEX-compliant application
Products

Recommended Products & Brands

  • Foundry castings (grade ASTM A532 Class II/III) for crusher wear parts and mill liners
  • Alumina tile solutions (92–95 % Al₂O₃) for chutes, hoppers and cyclone inlets
  • Ceramic-filled composite for fan housing and cyclone apex rebuild
Shutdowns

Types of Shutdowns

  • Planned annual kiln shutdown (15–30 day window)
  • Crusher and mill liner changeout campaign
  • Emergency shutdown on refractory failure or mill crack
Risk mitigation

Risks We Help You Avoid

  • Unplanned kiln outage costing up to $1M/day in lost production
  • Premature wear part replacement increasing consumables cost
  • Dust emission exceedance leading to environmental fines
  • Structural failure of degraded chutes and hoppers risking worker safety

Sector FAQ

How do you protect chutes and hoppers in a cement plant?

Induscoat installs IC TILE and IC FLEX alumina ceramic tiles and panels on chutes, hoppers and cyclones exposed to clinker abrasion. For high-impact surfaces, we select abrasion-resistant composites according to the service conditions.

Do your coatings withstand clinker heat?

Yes, when the service temperature, substrate and thermal cycles are compatible with the selected system. The allowable range is verified in the manufacturer's technical data before specification; abrasion zones may also receive alumina ceramic protection.

Do you work on cement kilns and mills?

Yes. We protect ball and vertical mill liners, induced-draft fans, preheater cyclones, gas ducts and clinker coolers. Our crews schedule work around plant planned shutdowns in Quebec and Ontario.
