The challenge: pumps worn by cavitation and erosion
In mines, cement plants, refineries and chemical plants, pumps handle slurries, acids, wastewater and hydrocarbons. Cavitation, erosion-corrosion and abrasion degrade the pump casing, impeller eye, wear rings and flanges. Replacing the pump costs 5 to 20 times the price of a repair and often requires weeks of lead time. Welding on a cast iron or coated steel casing risks cracking and requires rebalancing.
The solution: cold-curing epoxy composites
