Industrial tank and vessel lining
Storage tanks, process vessels, retention basins and separators suffer chemical attack, under-product corrosion, permanent immersion and fill-empty cycles. Induscoat applies novolac epoxy, vinyl ester and polyurethane internal lining systems certified for immersion — NSF/ANSI 61 compliant for potable water and API 653 compliant for tanks.
The challenge: internal corrosion and product contamination
An unlined tank — or one whose lining has reached end of life — releases rust particles into the stored product, lets walls perforate and can cause a catastrophic leak. Internal corrosion of a potable-water tank risks bacterial contamination; of an acid tank risks rupture. Proper tank rehab requires good surface preparation and the right lining system — selected by fluid, temperature and immersion duration.
The solution: immersion-certified lining systems
Induscoat applies multi-coat internal lining systems in novolac epoxy, vinyl ester and polyurethane formulated for permanent immersion and chemical attack. Each project starts with a substrate condition inspection, followed by SSPC-SP10 near-white grit blasting, airless application in controlled DFT layers, and final thickness and adhesion testing. NSF/ANSI 61 (potable water) and API 653 certifications available.
Inspection of substrate condition, stored fluid and service temperature
SSPC-SP10 near-white blasting + anchor profile verification
Multi-coat airless application with wet and dry DFT control
Adhesion testing (ASTM D4541) + holiday test + QA/QC report
Benefits of professional tank lining
- Tank service life extended by 15 to 25 years
- Eliminates product contamination by rust particles
- Broad chemical resistance: acids, bases, hydrocarbons, potable water
- NSF/ANSI 61 potable water certification available
- API 653 compliance for storage tanks
- Reduced frequency of inspections and rehabs
Systems we apply
Induscoat selects the lining system based on your fluid (water, acid, hydrocarbon, slurry), temperature and immersion duration. We apply Arcor (novolac epoxy and vinyl ester for immersion and high temperature), Chester Molecular (high-performance polymers) and our own Induscoat formulations for Canada's most demanding services.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a tank lining last?+
A properly applied lining system after SSPC-SP10 blasting typically delivers 15 to 25 years of service depending on stored fluid, temperature and cycle frequency. We provide a recommended re-inspection plan with every project.
Does the tank need to be emptied for lining?+
Yes, internal lining requires an emptied, cleaned, degassed and isolated tank. Project duration depends on tank size and condition — allow 1 to 3 weeks for a typical storage tank. We schedule the work around your shutdown windows.
Are your linings certified for potable water?+
Yes, we apply lining systems certified to NSF/ANSI 61 for potable water contact. These systems are used for municipal reservoirs, cooling towers and potable water distribution systems in Canada.
What tank types do you line?+
Atmospheric storage tanks (API 650), pressure vessels, process tanks, retention basins, separators, cooling towers, road and rail tank cars. In carbon steel, stainless, concrete or composite.
